Cristi Trusler’s practice focuses on assisting clients of all sizes in contracts, licensing and negotiation of business and consumer legal matters, with an emphasis on intellectual property and technology. Ms. Trusler also focuses on trademark preparation and prosecution matters, as well as trademark disputes.
Prior to opening her practice, Ms. Trusler was a member of the intellectual property and outsourcing practice of Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr in Austin, Texas. Before that, she was in the intellectual property practice of Jenkens & Gilchrist in Dallas, Texas, and in the corporate securities practice of Silver Freedman & Taff in Washington D.C. Ms. Trusler is licensed to practice law in Texas, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Ms. Trusler received her Law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C. in 1996, where she was the Administrative Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics and a participant in the civil division of the Law Students In Court clinical trial program. The trial program provides legal representation to low income civil litigants with landlord tenant and small claims cases in Washington D.C.
Ms. Trusler graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of General Studies in Pre-Law from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas in 1993. At Texas Tech, Ms. Trusler was a member and served as Vice President of Mortar Board, a member of Golden Key Honor Society, President of the Texas Tech Pre Law Society and an active member and officer in the Delta Psi chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Ms. Trusler was a West Scholar, Westlaw Scholarship recipient and the recipient of the Janet Burford Memorial Scholarship for Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was also a University Recruitment speaker for Texas Tech and served as a member of the Texas Tech Supreme Court and member of the University Budget/Finance committee within the student government.
Ms. Trusler is active in the Austin, Texas legal community and is an active member of the following organizations: Travis County Bar Association (member of Technology and Computer Law Section, Small Firm/Solo Section, Family, and Estate Planning, Real Estate and Probate Section), Austin Young Lawyers Association, Texas Women Lawyers Association, Austin Intellectual Property Association, Austin Junior League (Placement: Travis County Legal Aid), State Bar of Texas (Intellectual Property, Computer Law, Family and Estate Planning, and Solo/Small Firm sections), Texas Young Lawyers Associations, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association
